White Cats & Deafness

Deafness in white cats is a known as congenital deafness. This means the deafness is in their genes.

However recent studies suggest its not there coat color that is related to the deafness gene but their eye color.

Approximately 80% of white cats with two blue eyes are deaf.

Approximately 60% of white cats with one blue eye are deaf.

Approximatley 30% of white cats with no blue eyes are deaf.
